About the VCUHS 2005 Employee of the Year
Each year, we recognize one employee who is our best of the best. This individual demonstrates VCUHS’ mission, goals and commitment to quality customer service.

The VCUHS employee of the year for 2005 is Donna Steigleder, director of employee relations. Donna joined VCUHS more than 12 years ago. She is a registered nurse who has served a strong employee advocate and been instrumental in developing new employee evaluation tools used by VCUHS managers.

Although no longer involved in direct patient care, Donna utilizes her nurse’s training in her day-to-day job and in the compassion she shows to employees at all levels.

“VCUHS is a place full of exciting new opportunities for personal growth,” Donna said. “Loving what I do and having such great people to work with make it easy for me to do a good job and go the extra mile.”

As part of her employee of the year recognition, Donna received $500 cash and a crystal trophy. Donna was selected from 11 other employees honored over the previous year.
