Respiratory

VCU Health System’s Respiratory department treats thousands of patients annually and manages six adult ICUs which with a combined capacity of 63 beds. Examples of the diversity of clinical conditions cared for by Critical

Care Division faculty are:

• Respiratory failure
• Diabetic ketoacidosis
• Gastrointestinal hemorrhage
• Sepsis and septic shock with multiple organ failure
• Acute and chronic liver failure
• Hypertensive crisis
• Drug overdose
