Our Academy Award

The Nurse Manager Academy

VCUHS established the Nurse Manager Academy in 2001 to create training specifically dedicated to this important group of nurses. The Nurse Manager Academy staff provides education and consultation to Nurse Managers throughout their development.

The Academy provides a range of services to Nurse Managers including:

Entry-level management training
Individual orientation for Nurse Managers new to the role or new to us
Peer coaches
Continuing education
Transition groups
Review and dissemination of pertinent professional literature

Future services will include:

Succession management planning
Formation of action learning groups
Best practice showcase presentations
