  • Solucient Corporation – which maintains the country’s largest healthcare database – named VCUHS to its coveted Solucient Top 100 - Performance Improvement Leader list.

2003

  • In 2003, Solucient Corporation named our MCV Hospitals of the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center one of its 100 Top Hospitals in the United States for 2002. Solucient also named MCV Hospitals as one of only 16 major teaching hospitals in the United States selected for the honor. Learn more here.
  • Hospitals & Health Networks named us one of the nation’s “Most Wired” hospitals and health systems, as part of its 2003 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study. The survey measured the nation’s hospitals and health systems on their use of Internet technologies for safety and quality, customer service, disaster readiness, business processes and workforce issues.   • The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services named VCUHS as the only institution in the Southeastern United States to earn one of six new designations as a National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. Learn more here.

Other Awards:

In 2001 and 2002, the National Research Corporation (NRC) named VCUHS as one of the top 130 hospitals in the country as part of its Consumer Choice Awards program. Winners were named in Modern Healthcare magazine. They were selected from consumer surveys from nearly 140,000 households in more than 100 markets. Learn more here.
