University Health Services – Professional Education Programs
In order to allow for the growth and development of a strong and meaningful continuing education effort on the VCU campus, a new company was formed on January 1, 2010. The company is University Health Services-Professional Education Programs (UHS-PEP). UHS-PEP operates the VCU Office of Continuing Medical Education (VCU.CME.edu). UHS-PEP is a separate 501(c)3 corporation that reports to its own Board of Directors and operates for the welfare of the VCU School of Medicine and VCU Health System, Inc and the educational needs of health care providers in the community.
The officers of UHS-PEP include John W. Seeds, MD, the President and CEO, Amy Sebring, the CFO, and Jerome F. Strauss, MD, PhD, the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
The office staff also include a Director of CME, a Business Manager, two CME Project Managers, a Registrar, and an Administrative Assistant.
The Mission and Vision of UHS-PEP and the VCU Office of CME are provided elsewhere on this website but primarily focus on the development and support of live and enduring continuing medical education activities for practicing physicians in Virginia and beyond.
Our goal is to provide timely and effective support for anyone within the VCUHS medical community who wants to develop a CME activity. Assistance in design, compliance with accreditation guidelines, event management, and budget management is available.
