Junior Volunteers Opportunities at VCUHS
The Junior Volunteer Program provides students (ages 14-17) an opportunity to volunteer in a large, urban medical center where they are able to see the benefits of donating their time and services to their community. They are also given opportunities to develop and appreciate their own abilities, and to learn about career opportunities in the health care field. In order to participate in the Junior Volunteer Program for Summer 2010, applicants must be 14 by July 1, 2010. Accepted volunteers must also complete the required health screening, orientation, and attend all 3 weeks of the program.

Summer Volunteer Program 2010 information:
We are no longer accepting applications for Summer 2010. Please check back in Jan. 2011 for Summer 2011 applications.
Program hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 noon. (Those who do not drive should arrange transportation to and from the hospital each day.)
We must receive all applications and recommendation forms by March 15, 2010. Late applications will not be accepted.
This is a popular program, and space is limited! Our volunteers work hard and have fun while providing valuable services, learning about our health system, and meeting new friends. We would love to consider you for our 2011 program, and advise you to return the application at your earliest convenience.
*At this time the Summer Junior Volunteer Program is the only time we accept volunteers younger than 18 years old.
