The Rehabilitation and Research Center's Brain Injury Program is a self-contained 14 bed unit which treats both adult and adolecent patients with traumatic brain injuries stemming from accidents such as falls, gunshot wounds, assaults or car accidents. Our highly-specialized staff also treats those with non-traumatic injuries from causes such as aneurysms, hemorrhages or brain tumors. The Rehabilitation and Research Center's Brain Injury Program is proud to one of 16 Federally designated Model System of Care for persons with brain injuries. Our Brain Injury Rehab Unit is an intensive program focused on functional assessment, therapeutic intervention, community reintegration and long-term clinical follow-up. The interventions include:

Brain Injury Education Program:
Education on the Brain Injury Unit strives to provide the patients and their families with the information and tools to make going home and getting back into the community a smooth transition. Topics generally covered include:

Discharge Planning:
Our team of Social Workers, doctors, nurses and therapists work together to ensure the patient and family have the tools they need to succeed at home. During the discharge planning process, you will be provided with information to assist with your transition home, continued follow-up care and resources that may be available to you in the community.
