VCU Medical Center is fortunate to have hundreds of volunteers that give of their time to help make the hospital a better place. Each year volunteers contribute over 40,000 hours to VCU Medical Center. This fast paced environment provides many opportunities from those who want to serve.
At VCUHS, volunteers:
- deliver flowers and mail to the patients,
- read to children,
- calm nervous families of patients receiving emergency treatments or having surgery,
- visit patients,
- work in the Three Bears Gift Shop,
- assist in the clinics,
- help patients and families get educational materials in the library at Massey Cancer Center,
- participate in activities sponsored by the MCVH Auxiliary such as fundraising events.
