The Sleep Disorders Center Facility
THE SLEEP CENTER LAB:

All recording and monitoring equipment is enclosed in a copious, well-lighted lab that is separate from the testing bedrooms. This allows us to maintain quiet in the halls during sleep studies, as well as have a room where patients can watch educational videos and ask questions without worrying about waking another patient.
The control room is equipped with state-of-the-art sleep recording systems that save all patient data to computers for faster analysis and diagnosis. Our well-trained and very professional technicians prepare patients and monitor the sleep studies from our control room.
With varied medical and teaching backgrounds, our technicians score very highly when our patients are asked about their experience at night.
THE BEDBROOMS:
Each of our five patient rooms is furnished like a "real" bedroom, with soft lighting, carpet, and decorating touches that create a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Each room also contains an oversided reclining chair. Some patients elect to sleep in this chair, while others offer it to a spouse, parent, or other family member whose presence provides them peace of mind during their stay.
To further add to the comfort of our patients, the VCUHS Sleep Disorders Center is 100% smoke-free and completely handicap accessible.
